Pastor Roger and Mrs. Joann Jimenez have been married since June of 2004 and the Lord has blessed with them with six children — Joshua, Joel, Elisabeth, Lydia, Ruth, and Hannah. They started Verity Baptist Church in their living room in September of 2010. The Lord has blessed Verity Baptist Church in a mighty way. The church has grown over the years and has a large and active homeschool group.

About Pastor Roger Jimenez

Pastor Roger Jimenez was born in Venezuela and was raised in a Christian home.  He moved to the United States, along with his parents and two siblings, when he was a young child. Pastor Jimenez grew up in California and was trained for the ministry by his pastor and local church while enlisted in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed drawing as a kid and is happy to be able to provide illustrations for a children’s book (The Adventures of Herb Meyer) that promotes Christian character. He has served as the Pastor of Verity Baptist Church since September 2010. Pastor Roger Jimenez preaches at conferences and events throughout the country and has been featured in many documentaries. One of his goals is to help families “Build their lives on the Bible.”

About Mrs. Joann Jimenez

Mrs. Joann Jimenez was born in Northern California. At the age of 17 she was working full time and attending a local community college near Sacramento. The influence at this college had convinced her to be an atheist, even though she was raised catholic. Joann was saved when a Christian teenage boy, who had recently started working with her, began to present the gospel to her. After months of conversations and debating, while closing late one night, Joann decided to reject atheism and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior! She immediately began to go to church with her Christian co-worker, got baptized and began to grow in her walk with God. Joann eventually married the young Christian co-worker that presented the gospel to her. Joann Jimenez is a wife and homeschool mother of six children. It is her desire to produce children’s books with an emphasis on building Biblical character traits for kids. The main character, Herb Meyer, was inspired by Joann’s pet box turtle she had when she was ten years old. The Adventures of Herb Meyer is a compilation of Joann’s love for the Lord, kids, and of course, turtles!
